'Centurion Transport unveiled its first electric truck that will prevent seven tonnes of carbon emissions a year from entering the atmosphereโ Simon Ramsay, Senior Vice President of Sales of Velocity Vehicle Group, Australia on behalf of Daimler Trucks Perth said. โWe are thrilled to be involved with this Australian first, delivering the electric Fuso eCanter to Centurion in Mackay, QLD. Our long standing relationship with Centurion has gone from strength to strength and we are excited to see the positive affect a zero emission vehicle has on their business along with the companies they work with. We are committed to helping other businesses around the country that are seeking alternative solutions to reduce their carbon emissions into the environment.โ Centurion released this statement earlier in the week; โToday, Centurion unveiled its first electric truck that will prevent seven tonnes of carbon emissions a year from entering the atmosphere. The Fuso eCanter is Australiaโs first production electric truck and the first zero-emission electric vehicle deployed by Centurion. Today it was deployed at Centurionโs branch in Mackay, where Centurion provides 3PL and network services to multiple mine sites across Central Queensland. The vehicleโs deployment is in partnership with BHP. The team at Daimler Trucks Somerton worked closely with Linfox technical advisors during the build-up period, having multiple meeting on site to ensure all technical requires were met as Linfox have very specific and stringent requirement for their fleet revolving mainly around OH&S for their drivers. Somerton in conjunction with Freightliner Field Service Managers also completed around 1,000 km of road testing to ensure all truck errors and glitches were picked up and addressed before handover in July.

Brian Phillips recently had the pleasure of delivering a new 2658 Mercedes Benz Actros. Crossling Contractors Pty Ltd commenced business in Naracoorte in the late 1970s with Colin Crossling being the sole owner/operator with one spreader and a truck. Forty years later, it has now grown to the stage where they have four spreaders, seven trucks and seven permanent staff members, and are in the process of employing another casual to assist with the demand for the coming months.
